Glacier Park International Airport boasts several direct flights into the Flathead Valley, which just so happens to be adjacent to the peaks of Glacier National Park and Big Mountain (home to Whitefish Mountain Resort). Whitefish resides just a short 20-minute drive from the airport. When flying in (on a clear day) you can't help but be amazed with the numerous lakes, scenic rivers, and the 60-mile-wide valley that you will fly over to get to your destination. This includes the Flathead Lake which is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi.

Missoula (MSO) is a popular alternative for guests looking for additional flight options or lower fares. While a little over two hours from the ranch, the drive is incredibly scenic and offers a wonderful introduction to Montana's varied landscapes.
Guests flying into Missoula will need to rent a vehicle or arrange transportation to Whitefish. Many visitors enjoy the freedom of an independent road trip while taking in Montana's mountains, rivers, forests, and wide-open valleys.

Arriving by Rail
Traveling to Whitefish by train is one of the most scenic and relaxing ways to experience the journey to Montana. Amtrak's Empire Builder route connects Whitefish with major cities including Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, and Chicago.
Along the way, passengers enjoy mountain ranges, rivers, forests, and some of the most dramatic scenery in the American West. For many guests, the train ride becomes part of the adventure.

If you are a hiker, this is the place for you. There's just over 700 miles of hiking trails. Glacier is a grand adventure for visitors seeking wilderness and history. You can't help but relive the days of old through the park’s historic chalets, lodges, and the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Be sure to plan ahead if you would like to visit Glacier National Park during your stay, as passes and permits are required.

Whitefish, Montana is located in the Northern Rocky Mountains of Montana. It's just miles from the edge of Glacier National Park.
